The key to any healing or deliverance is believing we will receive it. We can have the desire, and surely we do, but until we have the faith to receive it; the victory can never be guaranteed. Many times one that suffers from some type of illness (physical or spiritual), defeats themselves by allowing Satan to put doubt in their mind. When genuine faith is mixed with confidence in God's Word; we then put ourselves in a place to receive the promise.
At no point in the life of Jesus Christ was deception ever shown. The character of Jesus is found in II Corinthians 5:21 (For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.) and I John 3:5 (And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him in no sin.); therefore the promises which were made during the early ministry of Jesus are still as steadfast as today.
A number of scriptures in the Book of St. John explains why the Words of Jesus are essential to our usage. Note these scriptures very carefully:
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
We can see from the above stated scriptures, when we speak the Word, it is the same as if Jesus himself were talking. In fact the importance of the Word is overlooked by many. According to the above stated scriptures, He was the Word, the Word was made flesh; and when we speak the Word -- Jesus backs up His Word.
Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
