In the Garden of Eden when the serpent beguiled Eve (Genesis 3:1-7), the ever swinging pendulum of sin was set in motion. The earth which was once to be the "home" for man had been taken over with sin and a new landlord demanded a different price. No longer would the atmosphere be pure and the evening visit with the "voice of the Lord God" (Genesis 3:8) be common; sin had separated man from his maker and the judgments of sin would now run rampant through out the earth. All that is brought with sin would now demand that the "rent" be paid; peace would be traded for hatred, tranquility would now be replaced with anger and even murder, life that was easy going would demand a "pace" which was unbearable.
The only hope man would have is the redemption which brought blood shed to pay the expensive life they had chosen to live. Adam and Eve were not forced to disobey God, they did it of their own free will. Because of that decision, each of us must bear the "heritage" that comes from the first family.
